Richard “Dru” Warden
Dru is a skilled carpenter at Wooden Boatworks whose passion for boatbuilding began in his childhood in Pennsylvania, where he spent time on his grandfather’s wooden boats—including a double-ended ketch crafted by the renowned Danish yacht designer Aage Nielsen.
Dru earned an art history degree from Colorado College before pursuing his true calling at the IYRS School of Technology and Trades, where he specialized in boatbuilding and restoration.
Now residing in Greenport, New York, he enjoys fishing and dedicating time to restoring a 1956 Gulfstream 30’, a folding sea scamp dinghy, and a Beetle Cat.
Michael Lucak
Michael works as a carpenter and an outboard mechanic at Wooden Boatworks. He was raised by the water on the North Fork, which inspired a lifelong passion for the sea.
Michael is a graduate of Southold High School and outside of work, he enjoys fishing, boating, and working on cars. He is currently channeling his skills in carpentry, fiberglass, and mechanical work into building his second wooden boat, a 15-foot tunnel hull slats skid, and restoring a 1970s classic Mako 19.

Danny works as a boatyard hand and finisher at Wooden Boatworks and is a graduate of Greenport High School. His talents extend to repairs, maintenance, and rigging, making him a versatile and valuable member of the team.
When he’s not perfecting the art of painting and varnishing wooden boats, Danny can be found playing electric guitar, shooting hoops, or enjoying life on the water. Beyond his maritime expertise, he’s well-known for crafting an excellent mocha.
